The international awards for Tapio Anttila collection show that my thinking and design work across borders. And if there are more than one, it shows that the result of my work has appealed not only to one jury, but to many, all over the world.
The award is a sign of appreciation from top professionals in the field, and that's solely good for the end user.

Day&Night sofabed

The international jury's attention was drawn not only to the simple and unique design, but also to the innovative concept. The sofa bed has no mechanisms, can be easily converted into a double bed or two single beds, the bedding is hidden in the back cushions - and it doesn't look like a sofa bed.
Filtti lounge chair

Comfort, warmth, cosiness and practicality are not words usually associated with modern design. Yet these are the values and qualities that distinguished the Filtti lounge chair in the competition for the annual award. The chair is like a nest in which you can curl up and take shelter from the storms of the world. You can open the felt headrest and wrap yourself in its warm embrace. The chair has a carbon footprint of just 112.5 kg CO2-e. It was these arguments, as well as the design, that won over the international jury.
Piena dining chair
Good Design Award 2022
Spindle chairs are still popular, but they have been very similar. The international jury noted the way in which the Piena chair brings something new to this challenging product category. The spindles of the backrest are connected to each other at the top with a regenerated leather strap. This construction gives the chair a new look, but also makes the backrest flexible, increasing comfort by allowing it to adapt to the user's back.
