Description

The Day&Night sofa bed is designed to adapt to different everyday situations. It functions as a comfortable and stylish sofa during the day and easily converts into a spacious double bed (180 x 200 cm) or two single beds (90 x 200 cm) at night. The overlapping frames save space and allow quick conversion.

Comfort is ensured visco-elastic mattresses that mould to the body and ensure good sleeping and sitting comfort. The covers are zip fastened and easy to remove, making the sofa bed easy to clean and durable. The upholstery fabric has an abrasion resistance of up to 100,000 Martindale, so it can withstand active use.

The back cushions contain all the necessary bedding: four pillows, two duvets and two mattress covers (included in the price). This makes it quick and easy to provide bedding for guests, while saving storage space in the home.

Armrests can be added to the sofa, which are available separately and can be attached either to both ends or just to one end.

Available in two timeless colours: beige and dark grey.

Where the idea for Day&Night sofa bed came from?

"I designed this after the popular ON sofa bed. I received feedback from customers asking if I could design a sofa bed with a different design language using the same principle. I took up the challenge. The end result was a sofa bed that worked in the same way as its 'ancestor', but with more wood, was more angular and therefore had a completely different spirit."

"I'm a child of the 70s and was inspired by the simple and clean wooden daybeds of the time. Like the ON -sofa bed, the design was guided by two separate beds, a high quality mattress and bedding in the the back cushions. The whole design hides many things, but looks simple. It took a lot of experimentation and prototyping."

Day&Night sofa bed in use

Because of its lightness and simplicity, the sofa bed works well in small spaces. Our customers have used sofa beds in guest rooms, study rooms, secondary residences, sauna cabins, living rooms and studio apartments, but also in the living rooms of large apartments. Its characteristics make it particularly suitable for relaxed lounging and, of course, for accommodating guests.

A story behind the Day&Night sofa bed

"We presented the sofa bed at Habitare back in the day and it was voted the best sofa by international journalists. When they brought the certificate of honour to our stand, we discovered that they didn't know the sofa was a sofa bed. We lifted the top section to make a bed and took the bedding out of the back cushions. It was a positive shock - they said, "This is even better!"

Manufacturing the Day&Night sofa bed

We have the wood and upholstery parts of the sofa bed made by two different contract manufacturers. The method is a combination of serial production and craftsmanship. Machines are needed to make the wooden parts, but the finishing is a collaboration between the human eye and hand. All the upholstery is handmade. To guarantee quality, our manufacturer makes all the bedding in-house.

The sofa bed has been awarded three international design awards. The juries were impressed not only by the simplicity and uniqueness of the design, but also by the innovative concept. The sofa bed works without mechanisms and has many features, but does not look like a sofa bed.

Day & Night vuodesohja

Olin etsinyt kauan sopivaa vuodesohvaa kotiimme. Tämä vuodesohva oli meille sopiva: se on korkealaatuinen, käytännöllinen ja riittävän suuri (2x 90 cm) vieraillemme. Lisäksi arvostan sen kotimaisuutta (ainakin suunnittelua). Mietin patjan riittävää pehmeyttä, mutta ainakin omalla kohdallani patja oli sopiva eikä liian kova.

Vuodesohva

Täydellinen sohvakokonaisuus. Juuri sellainen mitä tarvittiin tämän hetkisiin tarpeisiimme. Ainoa pieni miinus säilytyspussin vetoketjulle joka rikkoutui ensi avaamisella.
Muuten täysi 10 jo tähän mennessä!

Great product - needs two persons to set-up (as kingsize)

Great quality, and comfortable (says guest :) - the upside is this really is a bed that can transform into a king size one. No squeaky metal springs oft associated with bed sofas. The related downside is it takes two persons to transform into a king size bed. But this is a necessary compromise for a comfy set-up!
